What we do

Three programs.
One mission.

Federal Title I funds the academics. We fund what makes a kid feel ready to walk into class — uniforms, supplies, books, and the moments that matter.

August · Annual

Back to School Bash

Our flagship August event. The single largest day of the PRFS year — we outfit hundreds of Miami-Dade Title I students in one morning so they walk into the first day of school ready.

What we provide
  • Full school uniform kits — shirts, pants, socks, and undergarments per district dress code
  • Backpacks loaded with grade-appropriate school supplies
  • A new book each student takes home and keeps
  • Shoes when sponsor partners contribute footwear
How it runs

Families RSVP through partner Title I schools. We set up fitting stations staffed by 40+ volunteers, walk every kid through, and hand them a packed backpack on the way out. Doors open at 10 AM and we don't stop until every RSVP'd family is taken care of.

Impact

On a single Back to School Bash day, we'll outfit 200+ students. Some years more.

December · Annual

Holiday Toy Distribution

Every December we distribute new toys, books, and winter essentials to Miami-Dade Title I families. Halloween costumes are added in late October so no kid sits out the parade for lack of one.

What we provide
  • New toys — sourced through corporate partner donations and direct purchases
  • Holiday books to take home
  • Winter essentials (light jackets, layers) where appropriate for South Florida winters
  • Halloween costumes in late October
How it runs

Coordinated with partner Title I schools and our sponsor network. Families pick up at distribution events; for kids who can't attend, items are sent home through teachers.

Impact

1,500 toys distributed since 2015. 100 Halloween costumes. Every December cycle reaches hundreds of families.

Year-round

Blessings in a Backpack

Year-round support providing backpacks loaded with school supplies and weekend meals for students from food-insecure households. Targeted at the Title I schools that need consistent reinforcement beyond the August event.

What we provide
  • Backpack refills (supplies + meals) on an ongoing schedule
  • Weekend food packs for food-insecure students
  • Partner coordination with food bank and food-supplier sponsors
How it runs

Identified students at partner Title I schools receive consistent weekly or bi-weekly support throughout the school year. Coordinated with school counselors and teacher liaisons.

Impact

An always-on layer that catches the kids who need more than once-a-year help.
