A 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in Miami in 2015 by Julyett Gullen. We outfit Miami-Dade Title I students with the uniforms, books, and supplies they need to walk into school ready.

That every disadvantaged child in our community has access to the necessary supplies and materials needed to be successful and happy in an educational setting.
Our story
Founded in Miami in 2015.
Julyett Gullen started Project Ready for School in 2015 with a Miami-Dade Title I student list and a question: why do we expect a kid to focus on reading when she's wearing the wrong uniform and her shoes don't fit?
We raise funds year-round through events and online giving with one goal — outfit disadvantaged students with the uniforms, books, and supplies they need to walk into school ready.
Title I context
Federal funds the lights. We fund the uniforms.
Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act provides federal financial assistance to schools where at least 40% of students come from low-income families.
Those funds are statutorily allocated for academics — closing the educational gap. They are not allocated for school uniforms, shoes, undergarments, or new books.
That's the gap PRFS closes. We partner with Miami-Dade County Public Schools enrolled in the Title I program to put the items a kid actually needs to walk into class on day one in their hands — uniforms, socks, underwear, supplies, and a book to take home.
